With a shared passion for exploration and a deep sense of curiosity, Jessica, a journalist, author and photographer with stints at Der Spiegel in Washington, D.C., and ZEIT in Berlin, and Bernd, a photographer with a Ph.D. in quantum physics, combine their skills to create compelling narratives as they travel.

From tracing Albania’s farm-to-table movement to documenting Armenia’s new generation of chefs and farmers, from foraging for seaweed with the pioneer of Chilean fine dining to taking a cooking class at Bhutan’s trailblazing women-led community restaurant, they highlight grassroots solutions to global challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss and social injustice.

Since setting off in their old VW LT camper with their dachshund mix, Momo, in the summer of 2022, they’ve now fully embraced a life on the road. Their adventures often take them off the beaten path. They immerse themselves in the culture of each place, sometimes for weeks or even months, to connect with the locals and reflect the heart and soul of each destination in their writing and photography – not just to inform, but also to inspire.
