With a focus on food and farming, they document local solutions to the global challenges of our time, such as the climate crisis, biodiversity loss, and social inequality.
Recent stories include a women-run community restaurant in Bhutan, revitalizing rural villages, a regenerative tea farm in Georgia reviving abandoned fields, and Albania’s farm-to-table movement, reconnecting the country with its ancient varieties and culinary roots.
Jessica Jungbauer is a freelance journalist, author, and photographer with stints at DER SPIEGEL in Washington, D.C., and DIE ZEIT in Berlin. For over a decade, she has focused her work on food and agriculture, always with an eye toward a more sustainable future. Her book “Urban Oasis – Parks & Projects for a Greener Future” was published internationally in English and German by teNeues in 2023. Since 2025, she has been a member of the jury for “CHEF:IN WATCH”, an initiative dedicated to increasing the visibility of women in the global restaurant industry.
Bernd Jungbauer is a freelance photographer with a Ph.D. in quantum optics. His work combines a scientific approach with visual creativity and spans photography, video and drone imagery.
Since the summer of 2022, they have been traveling full-time in their 37-year-old VW camper van with their dachshund mix, Momo, exploring Europe and beyond. Their reporting is rooted in extended time on the ground, often for weeks or months, allowing them to tell stories with depth and context.
They are available worldwide for assignments, collaborations, and projects.
